Prior to founding Vinci Capital, Mr Tavel was a Senior Partner at Venture Partners AG. Before joining the private equity industry he was the CEO of Datacolor International AG, an international company specializing in measuring technologies which he successfully led through a major turnaround.
Mr Tavel started his career in the central research department of Mettler-Toledo AG, an international leader in weighing technology. Mr Tavel also held various senior management positions including, Vice-President Business Unit Industry, CEO Mettler-Toledo Switzerland, and contributed actively in the merger process of both companies.
Mr Tavel is a board member of several companies and holds an M.S. in electronic engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (dipl. Ing. ETHZ) and an M.B.A degree from INSEAD.
