Mr Paternot joined Vinci Capital in May 2004 from Microchemical Systems where he was responsible for new business development. Prior to Microchemical, Mr Paternot was vice-president of the Swiss Tech Tour, which goal is to introduce Swiss entrepreneurs with international investors. Prior to this experience, Mr Paternot spent four years as an engineer at Hughes Space and Communications in California, developing the guidance and control system for the ICO constellation, a project to provide broadband communication via satellite.

Mr Paternot holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
